I love it; I really, really love it. It is about 100 times better when watched with 409, after all this is the second half of a whole.

Let’s get the whole Anna is an angel thing out of the way. LOVE IT! From the whole losing her ‘Grace’ to becoming a human to regaining her ‘grace’, love all of it. From a complete world building aspect I love the idea of angels becoming humans, and human becoming demons. In many ways it raises the question of just how Lucifer retained his powers despite falling.

Dean and Anna’s sex scene was awesome in silence. The music kind of made me wince but OMFG! Dean’s shoulders are amazing. Also, why does Dean’s sex scene always make me laugh yet Sam’s sex scene always makes me fan myself. [It cracks me up that Dean end up on the bottom during sex. AHAHAHAHAHA].

Once again new Ruby blows me away with her awesome. From her interaction with Sam and Dean to the Angels, and then to Alistair [BTW: I didn’t find the torture scene to be gratuitous, I thought it was necessary to pave the way for Dean’s revelation at the end of the episode. That they needed to show exactly how horrible Hell is that Dean, our hero, chose to torture others, and that what Dean did to others in Hell was evil. So, to me, the torture of Ruby was necessary for audience to understand why Dean did what he did and why he feels so much guilt because of it].

Pamela is awesome and I’m glad she is alive. The end.

Castiel LIKES Dean! YAY! Also, he is so going to fall. BTW: Love the fact that Anna is technically his boss, and their interaction is so charged with things unsaid. It is pretty damn awesome. Castiel didn’t want to kill Anna, he didn’t want to fight Dean, oh, the conflict on his face. So very sweet the man pain.

In conclusion; awesome episode.

ETA: Wait, what? No NEW episodes for 6 WEEKS? WHAT? WHAT? In the immortal words of James T. Kirk - "KHAAAAAAAAN!"

Watch 409 FIRST! Then follow it immediately with 410. The 2 episode together is really one single story.

I wrote this 400+ words comment to your post and then LJ ATE IT!!! In short; you are awesome, and once I can get some steam up I want to reply to your post on the episode in great details.

There appear to be, um, some hate on the Ruby torture (described as pointless and excessive), the use of 'Grace' for an angels, how the first half was rather blah, etc., etc.. After readin the 5th review I kind of stopped because I like my squee.

Curse you LJ!!!!

hate on the Ruby torture I wondered about that- if there was going to be blowback, I mean. I thought it was a great expression of how devoted Ruby really is to Sam (and Dean by extension). She let Crazy cut her up with a knife so she could convince him that when she led him to them it wasn't what they'd planned. I thought it was brilliant, but...my squee was pretty epic.

the use of 'Grace' for an angels Pshaw. Haters. I really loved that concept- does that mean that Lucifer's Grace is technically still out there?

LJ!!!!

See, I'm with you in regards to the Ruby torture. It was meant to be disturbing and harsh and not nice in any way, shape or form. Ruby believes in Sam, trust in his plan, and it shows an amazing loyalty and layers to Ruby that makes her an unbelievably fascinating character. Also, OMFG! The girl has guts to basically set herself up for torture to buy time and to make Alistair believe her. LOVES her HEAPS!

I LOVE the idea of Grace, and it utterly breaks my mind in regards to Lucifer. I mean if an Angle who loses its Grace becomes human, and a human can become a demon, does that mean Lucifer became a human when he first fell and then became a demon, and somehow reclaimed his Grace? Except as we saw of Anna it seems that once you get your Grace back you cannot stay on Earth. So, does that mean Lucifer's Grace is floating around somwhere, or you know a forest?!!! Oh the theories!

Also, how much did I love the show equating John to God? A LOTS!

OH! And now I can see the Castiel/Dean relationship working now. Yes, in the sexualised way. Canon has given approval!

Oh, I forgot to post about that! I loved that so much, and it was like...this is why Dean is a good pick for Heaven: he's used to it already!

I can see the Castiel/Dean relationship working now.

YAY!!
