Twilight - It is hormones, I tell you.

So, Twilight, the film, not the book, I kind of really want to see it, call it morbid curiosity. I have been reading too much Robert Pattinson interviews, the result? I want to pat the boy on the head and feed him cookies. Oh gods, the clucky-ness will not leave. It just that he obviously didn't realise what he was signing up for, and now is coming across as really freaked out and dazed by the female fans; the insane mob of female stalkers. My mothering instincts are coming out full force.

Uh-hum. So, um, yeah. *EMBARRASSED*.

Heh, actually I want to see it too, not just out of morbid curiosity but so that I can do the point and lulz properly.

(Poor Cedric Diggory)

The pointing and lulzing would be worth watching the film for.

(Poor Cedric indeed.)

I laugh x1000

Coincidentally, he was featured on Ellen today, and the interview made me even more dismissive of the movie. -_- Poor, poor Cedric Diggory.

The really sad thing is that I think I may actually like the film. I mean it is like a live action shoujo manga, except shorter. What isn't there to like?

You should be embarrassed!!!! I have remained UNTOUCHED by this. Neko has actually read the book...I couldn't get pass the synopsis.

The books are absolutely horrid. I tried reading it... I managed 3 pages before I needed to stop because I could feel my eyes bleeding. But ROB PATTINSON needs a HUG and COOKIES!

I don't know how neko managed it. The experience of reading 3 pages of it was bad enough.

:DDD, yeah, he's been funny. You'd think he'd be prepared after HP, but I guess not! Or maybe he is, but he really is that contemptuous of the role and anyone who thinks it's cool.
[identity profile] naanima.livejournal.com wrote:

But the thing is he really wasn't prepared for HP or the aftermath. Hell, watching some of the interviews right after HP I didn't think he was ever going to make another film again. But yes he is kind of awesome that he speaks the truth, and he honestly does come across as completely bewildered by the whole thing.

Q - does your mobile # still work? I had this urge to text message you the other day but wasn't sure if it would even work.

Salvador Dali!! I was reading about it! It says a lot when I much more excited about the Dali film than Twilight. It is supposedly about Dali when he was younger and his affair with a man. The whole premise sounds horribly tragic because from what I remember in Art History, the relationship fucks them both up so terribly. Got the number! Will screen entry, you may get random text messaging sometime in the near future.

Oh, I'm way more excited about that one, especially if what you say is true. I mean, oh my god, Salvador Dali!! :D Maybe I'll rent it with Frida when it's out on DVD and have an art movie night. Horribly tragic & fucks them up terribly sounds like what I've heard of Twilight too, though; I hope Cedric Diggory hasn't got himself typecast. ;)

Oh gods, was never about the exact details but Dali had a friend called Garcia Lorca (I think), you know, the poet. Lorca was gay and there are HUGE implications that he had this MAJOR crush on Dali, and people are never sure whether it was one sided or not (rumours state a long tragic affair), but they were great friends and than not when they had several blow outs over Lorca's, um, feelings and it got all horribly messy (actully I think their friendship ended when Dali met his wife).

And I REALLY want to see the film.

Sounds awesome! Like, actually cool. I of course remember Garcia Lorca (I think both are his last names? Like Gabriel Garcia Marquez) vaguely from high school S. Amer. history, but had no idea he had a big gay crush on Dali, and am now even more interested in this movie than I was originally. (I hope it's good!)

And I hope the pressure to read Twilight dies down after the movie. :D

Yep, both are last names. Well, I suppose it make sense, he did get killed by the Fascists (I think). But yes, he was so gay for Dali, I mean I remember reading about Dali fending off Garcia Lorca's 'erotic' advances. Let me tell you that made me far more interested in Dali than I would have normally.

I have HIGH hopes for this film, but I think I'm going to watch it with much ice cream and other comfort food.

The good thing is I feel not pressure to read Twilight (I tried it awhile ago and 3 pages later I had to put the book down or fork my own eyes out. It was so bad.)

I will fully admit to having read all the books (Oh. My. God.) and also to having seen the movie. There's an actual plot in the movie and it's funny intentionally.

I know, I was shocked too. Though, I did have to keep myself from laughing at things that were probably not meant to be funny.

My sister is obsessed with the books and now movie, too. Though she refuses to stalk any of the actors believing it to be in poor taste, lol!!! Nonetheless, she has had to suffer through some of my obsessions, and to appease her and give her someone to talk to about the series and books, I went ahead and read them. I'll tell you, I got through each of them in a day and it was that long because I get easily distracted.

I guess I have no shame. Every supposed guilty pleasure or thing that should be embarrassing, I freely admit to. I wonder if there's something wrong with me.... *ack!*

I don't know how you managed to read the books. I have nothing against guilty pleasure but it need to be at least eligible. Mind you I'm very particular about writing style and 'Twilight' made me want to hurts things.

That's the thing, the movie actually comes across as semi-decent teen flick! I LOVES teen-flick. The Buffy movie, Pump up the Volume, Heather and a whole host of other teen flicks makes me GLEEFUL! So, I saw the preview, then saw the interviews and realised that I may actually like the film.

Yes, we must all be courteous of our family's obsessions so they can be courteous of our own.

Shame is for the weak! I'm more ashamed of liking the books than the movie. It is just that the movie sounds horrifyingly satisfying.

I hear ya. When my sister started reading them, I glanced at the back, just to see the synopsis. All I could think was, Oh. Wow. Really? Cause, uh-huh.

Lol!

I think I was able to get through the books, even with the writing, because I went in knowing I would most likely mock everything. I knew ahead of time that this was something I could not help but make fun of. I looked at it more as a game, a challenge to overcome and in the end, I got through them lmao along the way.

Plus, I wanted to see what was so great about this story and why this woman was published when I've been working my ass off trying to get a story that doesn't suck to flow.

And the way Rob Pattinson describes Edward, I just had to see the movie so I could see him be that way.

I want to go see it!  When I'm no longer in danger of being killed by fangirls for sniggering or irrepressible mockery.  And I'll be buying a ticket for another show, first, and then sneaking into Twilight.  Like when I saw Bloodrayne!  Except that hadn't been my idea at all; I was just indulging someone. >.>

... speaking of questionable movies, it feels like it's been a long time since I've heard anything about Harry Potter.  Book 5 is CAPSLOCK harry, isn't it?  Don't people want to see CAPSLOCK harry? o.o

Me too! But definitely after the major influc of fangirls. And I'll be buying a ticket for another show, first, and then sneaking into Twilight. I LIKE the way you think, I must try this.

I thought it was book 6 now? I read the books till # 5 than lost interest so I'm honestly unsure.

Oh, did I miss all the talk on the OotP movie, then?  And it coming out? XD;;  Oh well, shows how well I can isolate myself from advertizing!

I need to get someone to go with me.  I've asked a male friend, but I don't know if we'd be on the same lulzy wavelength.  Perhaps I should ask the (female) friend that got pressured into seeing High School Musical on Ice or whatever; it seems promising.

OotP was released back in 2007. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the film that got pushed back till next year hence the screaming angst from the fans.

I need a girlfriend to see it with me so that I don't feel completely out of place. I don't think any of male friends will want to see the film. *le sigh*

I can't believe that Twilight beat Transformers Opening Weekend figures by over $15 million...

Though technically Transformers opened on a Tuesday...

The power of the FANGIRLS is POWERFUL! Also, the film only cost $30 something million to make, while Transformers cost $150 million. It is going to be interesting to see what the international revenue is going to be.

I think I'm going to attempt to talk a girlfriend into seeing it with me. I need someone who likes romance. I don't want to feel all strange by myself.
