Want some recs? XDXD if Phantom of the Opera is still playing in Perth I really recommend that as one of the 'must sees' of musical theatre.

Also, you saw a quartet which is chamber music and thus more intimate/subtle as far as classical music goes. Maybe try to get to a symphony orchestra or concerto performance, those can be very visceral particularly if you're talking something like Beethoven.

It's the longest running musical in history and one of 'the' musicals of all time (the other being Les Miserables). This is the first time it's been done in Australia since I was in high school (it's a huge, expensive production, it doesn't come around often) and even better it has Anthony Warlow in he title role who is widely acknowledged as the best Phantom ever on stage. GO SEE IT DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!

Symphonies: anything from the Late classical (Beethoven) onwards I think you'd enjoy. Opera can be an acquired taste but if there's a production of 'Carmen' by Bizet definitely worth that checking out.
