Lost Skeleton of Cadavera: OMFG! I could not stop laughing while watching this film. It is a parody/send-off of every 1930's to 1950's space alien ATTACK film. Low budget, card-board acting, and a truly awesome script that could have only been written by someone who understands the genera. Bestest comedy I have seen since Best in Show.
Sars Wars, or whatever it was called: Zombie flick from Thailand. That should pretty much says it all, but just in case you might need more information. The film has every possible cliche crammed into it. The female scientist who, on taking off her glases and letting her hair down, have the body of a supermodel, check (she was wearing black PVC, spikes and feathers, it was never explained.) The school girl in the sailor fuku uniform. The dork hero, the dork hero's master, and hey, a transsexual villain. Fun film, though at times kind of grosse.
And now, in the words of the Skeleton of Cadavera: I sleep now.
Tonight, I saw Anakin Skywalker become Darth Vader. I laughed, I cried, and felt my heart constrict in pain. It had its faults but it didn’t matter, because for 2 and half hours it felt like I was 9 again. And nothing mattered, except for the life of a man who became the scarred-old-man wanting to look at his son with his own eyes for one final time. Thank you George Lucas, you don’t know me and probably never will, but I just wanted to say thank you. You changed the way a little girl viewed the world 13 years ago, and tonight you reminded her why she wanted to know the story of that scarred old man. Thank you.
( spoiler-ish thoughts )
Thank you Mr. Lucas.
Alice in the first movie was likable, nice, and really cool. Alice in this movie is bah. Too much posing and not enough content. The directing was pretty shoddy, the action scenes over the top, and while I can deal with over the top action sequences (LOVE THEM!) the obvious crap cherography made me want to grind my teeth. Though Jovovich is still hot. Jill Valentine came across as a hard nosed slut (not impressed), but at least they got the outfit right! (the BOOTS!) but her hair was absolutely dreadful. Jill had nice, soft, smooth hair, not hair with enough gel in it that it doesn't move. And when did Jill ever smoke? Carlos was ok.
The first film was much better because it didn't try to be anything it was not. It was a survival horror movie, deal. The action scenes were short and didn't go for over the top sequences that the director couldn't handle. Thus, fight scenes were effective. Special effects wasn't over done, thus, making it that more impressive when they did use it. It was fun and it was true to the game, which made it that much more fun. The second felt like they were making things up as they went along, and while it was pretty (posing by the actors in supposedly cool stunts that did nothing to the plot, and in fact made it less 'real') and they got the set perfect, the bad directing just screws up the whole thing. I went from loving Alice's character to wanting to shoot her myself, and that's never a good sign.
Just proves that bigger budget doesn't mean a good film.
Issue 21; see Raito and L on their first date. Puzzle and sleuth is the way.
I'm sure I had more intelligent things to say about the manga, however, the two points I just raised seem to sum up everything about Raito and L. I want Raito/L fics!
InitialD Fourth Stage. I LOVE! I LOVE! I LOVE! The adventures of a boy and his car continue. However, the cars are much shinier, the races that much more amazing, and everyone have gotten much prettier. Except for Keisuke, 'cos his hair is a crime against humanity.
Seriously, it's nice to see Takumi maturing so much in his understanding of cars, though I laughed myself sick when Ryousuke made the comment that Takumi hasn't learned to play mind games yet. Love Takumi. I want IniD fics!
Saw King Arthur today. Not bad. Since the King Arthur of Mallory's never really existed, and there are hundreds of interpretations and re-writes of the Arthurian legends this Roman/Briton Arthur is fine.
Beside, the battle scenes more than makes up for the deviation from the Romantic tradition of Arthur. In addition, Arthur is somewhat hot, Lancelot is pretty hot, Tristan is hot, and Guinevere is really hot in that fur/leather get-up thing. I want Arthur/Lancelot/Guinevere threesome fics!

Saw Freddy VS Jason. Wonderful film. You know the production crew are not taking themselves seriously when Freddy is practicing Kung Fu moves on Jason. Actually, you know they are not taking themselves seriously when the concept for a film is a crossover between two major icons of horror, despite never hinting at the two sharing the same universe in any of the previous franchise. However, I’m all for inconsistencies in the name of fun. Beside, the film is damn classy.
While classy, the film cannot match Jason X (AKA Jason in Space where He Is Made Into Mecha!Jason). Love the film! Mediocre acting, predictable plot, but oh, how I adore a film when they know ALL the clichés to the specific film genera, and purposely makes fun of it. It’s great when the script says all the smart-arse comments you and your friends want to say. And well, it features Mecha!Jason, how can you not enjoy the film ^__^
( naanima’s relationship with horror films )
Oh, and if anyone get the chance rent Hebrew Hammer. It’s a comedy, a straight to DVD take-off comedy film of the black exploitation films, except with Jews. Low budget and at times sick, but no matter what everyone thought of it I thought the film was a great. Mind you, the lack of any form of expectation of the film probably helped ^^;;;

Budd is pretty cool.
Elle, the skinny bitch, is just awesome.
PeiMei is Teh Shit.
Bill is sorta, kinda, well, really sweet, and a geek (and Tarantino is so trying to live through him).
But it is The Bride that Rocks My World. Mummy, I want to be her when I grow up.
I never thought I'd be thankful for all film/context English units I had to do, but damn, they paid off. And thank the gods that I grew up watching '70's/80's American cop dramas, and KungFu films from the same era. And YES, there was comic reference, YES! I understood, and spotted most of them! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!
You don't need to know any of the above to enjoy the film (the action and the gore is enough). But ohhh, if you know all the culture references/icons, know the different film styles, and can recognise the different camera angles Tarantino uses from the different eras (he used FILM NOIR!) it make everything that much more awesome, that much more enjoyable.
The only thing I wasn't too strong on was the music, for which,

I LOVE this film! And Tarantino is right, the film shouldn't be viewed as a separate entity from the Vol.1, the two films are one. Deal with it.
And to people who take babies and young children (10 or younger) to a late night screening where it'll end at 1am in the morning. DON'T!! Babies crying is NOT good, children constantly asking questions is NOT good.
Okay, now I'm going to bed. Feeling very sick. I need a day off. I really do.
Finally got around to watching Identity. LOVE John Cusack ^__^ Can see why it was such a hit at the Box Office, wonderful way of directing, very film noir. Acting is top notch, characters all very intriguing, although I guessed the 'twist-ending' about half way through the film, then my inner psychology student (ex-psychology student) decided to complain.
-- half way through the film, when everything clicks --
inner-psych student: They are screwing up the disorder. Can't they do an extra bit of research?
inner-viewer: Shut up! Enjoying the film. Staying for the ride!
inner-psych student: But for Christ sake, even the most basic of psychology text books will tell you that's wrong. There's less than a handful of suffe-
inner-viewer: La la la la. Not listening! WILL enjoy the film WITHOUT analysing!
inner-psych student: *grumbles*
--- a bit more into the film ----
inner-psych student: OMFG! Any self-respecting psychologist won't be doing that. The idiot!! There are rules against conducting a session like that with an unstable patient!
inner-viewer: ....... okay, have to agree with you there.
inner-psych student: You should. I know what I'm talking about.
inner-viewer: *ignores the former*
-- When Everything is Revealed ---
inner-psych student: I've no respect for the film! It's IMPOSSIBLE to do that!! Beside, there are ethics involved against such treatments, such treatment is also fucking impossible!!
inner-viewer: Well, it does make an impact, and John Cusack is pretty cool, and you've gotta admit the directing is still very good.
inner-psych student: But that's not how you treat the illness!!
inner-viewer: Shut up. *punt inner-psych student*
-- end of the film --
inner-viewer: WHAT?! That's it?! What the? That's it?!
inner-psych student: *smug* you should have seen it coming.
inner-viewer: I did! But couldn't they have pulled it off better?!
inner English student: It's a rather unsatisfying ending. The lighting is done rather badly. It must be the blue lenses they use, and seriously the angle for the last shot is terribly-
inner-viewer/inner-psych student: SHUT UP!!!
-- the end --
I'm demented. *sigh*
THIS!!! Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?! BakuRyuu Sentai Abarenjaa just sound (and looks) too cool. I -really- want to see this. The costumes!! There are colour coded uniforms, imperial/kimono style robes, stupid rubber monsters, overdone melodrama, the semi-attractive actors (attractive in the 'kicked puppy' sense), and the STORYLINE!! OMG, the stroyline. It has DINOSAURS!!!
*jumps up and down*
Okay, I admit, it's so cheesy that I can survive on it for several months, but I DON'T care!! Teh Cheese makes it good. Yes, it does. Worship Teh Cheese!
Yes, I'm a geek.

Saw several movies in the past few days, here are my mini-reviews.
Charlies' Angels: What I expected. Eye candy abound. Found the Dylan/ThinMan terribly amusing.
The Ring: Suitably creepy, and quite disturbing with a few of the themes. Can see why it was so popular.
EQUILIBRIUM: Love the concept. There aren't many movies were people goes around calling each other 'Cleric' where the captial 'C' can be heard. GunKata is just too cool of an idea. The fact that they attempted to give it wacked scientific backing is great.
What surprised me was that the film was actually quite intelligent. I mean it. I think I can write several essays on this film that includes; the impact of post-modernism on society, the improvement of science, the way of Zen, war, and the human identity. Although I wish they had a better budget, and a better choreographer when it came to a few of the fight scenes.
Christian Bale, as always, is terrific, and having Sean Bean in the film was a wonderful bonus.
Eight Legged Freaks: It is a hoot. Laughed all the way through. Although I can safely say that spiders creep me out.
I WANT to SEE

----on weird kinky things that's just wrong in Matrix-----
naanima: Ok, the tentacles was just pushing it.
nekomancy: All it needed was lube.
...........silence.............
naanima and nekomancy: MWAHAHAHABWAHAHAHAHA
---comment on the boobage-----------
naanima: Did you notice the two girls rubbing each others' boobs?
nekomancy: They are hard to miss. It is in the perfect position for the camera to focus on.
naanima: Those boobs have to be real. Silicon ones doesn't move like that.
nekomancy: The rubber chick's boobs makes an impression.
naanima: Rubber chick?
nekomancy: Yes, rubber chick who was also in the second film. She wore the white rubber dress.
naanima: Oh. The wife. Yeah, her breast were like really there. The red dress doesn't leave much to the imagination.
nekomancy: They are really big.
naanima: But nice. But yes, big.
nekomancy: At least it wasn't the white dress. That dress must have squashed her nipples.
naanima: *nods wisely* My first thought on seeing her in the red dress was 'Wow, she has nice assets.'
nekomancy: *laughs*
That't that ^_______^ (well, it isn't. But I'm so full of sugar at the present time that I really can't sit still and type anymore).

This film have everything. Samurais, an assassination squad, a wedding, a psychotic-sailorfuku-wearing Japanese-school-girl. And blood, lots, and lots of blood. But above everything else, the movie have style. I haven't being this impressed by a film since, since, since... hell, I can't remember the last time I came out of a cinema feeling so satisfied and -wanting- to re-watch the film immediately.
I wish I was better educated or at least more of a by-product of mass media. At least that way I can appreciated it more. Much more.
au of CCSakura. The whoring have to stop. God, please let the whoring stop. And,
pornkings, you're so right, CLAMP is like FF.net. Yet, despite the fear, I can feel a sick curiousity to the series, I think it might be the whole Touya falling into Yukito's arms. I never said I wasn't shallow.
On other news, I have seen Matrix Reloaded. It was fun, it was really pretty, and I REALLY liked the Trinity and Neo moments (yes, that definitely included the sex scene ^__^). Much better than X-men 2, but not as good as the first one. I even stayed til the end of the credit to see the preview for Matrix Revolutions, and that's all I'm going to say ^_^
Otherwise, I slept thru most of Friday, and quite a large chunk of today. I spent the rest of my waking hours re-watching Meteor Garden 1, watching Meteor Garden 2 and watching bits and pieces of the live-action Taiwanese soapie, Marmalade Boy. For those who've never heard of the series, it's shoujo comic (written in the early 90's) at it's best/worst, whichever is your taste. It ran approx ~70 eps, and oh boy, did I wish I was dead for some of them. Anyways, I am beyond brain dead, and I've cried rivers. So much bawling, the angst, the drama, the pain, WAHHH. I feel sorry for Lei, so much pain, the poor schnookums.
pornkings now you've to WRITE the Lei fic. PLEASE write the LEi fic, tell me you're writing the LEi fic. I need Lei fics, his story need to be better resolved, expanded, more depth, more something. Please write the Lei fic. I'm a firm believer that repetition of the same thing will eventually get me what I want. So, write the Lei fic.
I'm sure I had more intelligent things to say, but all I can think about is Lei and his missed chances *cries*

Moving on. After a week of much stress, went out yesterday night to eat really expensive pizza (like, $20.00 each, but damn it tasted REALLY good), afterwards went and saw X-Men 2. So, here's my impression of the film; much spoilers, although not exactly in any particular order.
( impressions, or X-Men 2 AKA. All About Wolverine, Mute Asian Chick is Hot, Mystique is Hotter, Teenage Angst Sux, Religious Masochist, and Cyclops Who? )
Overall, the film was ok, not great, but worth watching even if I do feel cheated and bitter, and the whole thing felt sterile. You'll know what I mean when you see it.
And now for a confusing outline of the movie.
( Coherent Plot be Damned: Fairly condensed, and Much snidey Comment )
I've more things to say about the film, but I'm rather sick of typing, so, go and watch the film at least once, and maybe I'll type up some more info about the movie tomorrow.

Behind my bitterness at the new SW films, and the relative time distance I last saw the origial trilogy, SW is something that'll be forever part of my childhood and to an cetain extend is a hallmark to my enjoyment of cetain genera. I remember the first time I ever saw any of SW. It was Return of the Jedi, and I remember being intrigued by it (not knowing that is was the last ten minutes of the film) wondering who everyone was and what was happening. I didn't know any of those things, but it didn't matter, because without knowing anthing about the history of the characters I had fallen in love with SW.
And well, the rest is history, I hunted down the rest of the film a year later and watched all of it over ten times and since then have watched it everytime it's shown on tv. I read the books up till they kille doff Chewiwe, I can talk about the series with fans for hours and once in awhile I'm reminded of why I love the original films so much.
This entry really didn't have any point except to talk about my love of SW and my disbelief that there are people out there who haven't seen the original series. Emotionally it is just not making any sense.

Ep 70 of Prince of Tennis mini-review, spoilers, yada, yada. Did this sometime on Friday.
..............................
I know I've asked this before, but damn, just what are the creators/producers of POT on? Sure this episode is no where near as weird as the chibi episode, but data baseball? Tennis style ping pong? Snake badminton? And of course the now (in)famous curling? The only games that were played 'right' were Momo in basketball, and Oishi and Eiji in volleyball, and how cute they were. I LOVE Eiji and Oishi. I LOVE. Even the baseball match was sort of normal until Inui dtarted on the data baseball, much adoration to Inui and Taka. Much.
Favourite quote of the whole episode:
"Participants... zero. Champoinship is mine." - Fuuji Syusuke.
Fuji is very lazy and oh so devious. I mean curling? So he can win the championship without any competition *laughs* Curling *shakes head* That boy, so many ulterior motives.
Everyone is so adorable in this ep, *huggles all the regulars* Hell, I love every memeber of the Regulars. It's so hard to dislike any of them when they are so cute and have so many unique quirks and flaws ^__^ But if I've to choose my fav character... hmm, I CAN'T choose one, although I can narrow it down to TWO ^__^
1. Inui; because of his data - sports, his sheer determination, his sense of fair play, and his
2. Oishi; because he's nice, responsible (mother-hen), caring, and despite his overall nice-ness is an extremely devious individual. He can also bowl really well ^___^
I'm so looking forward to ep 71 of POT. Fudomine re-enters the show, Momo goes on a date, tennis is played, and it seems everyone in the show makes an appearance. And there's SHINJI ^____^ (adore the boy, he mumbles!).

With the fragmentation of the Shikon no Tama, various demons across the land increased their powers using the Shikon Shards. One such demon is Menomura, who first came from China with his father's army to invade Japan. Defeated by InuYasha's father, Menomura was sealed away.
But the seal has been broken, and Menomura now seeks revenge. Steadily growing in power, he plans to use InuYasha in his quest for ultimate domination, and InuYasha and his friends must act fast to defeat the threat before it's too late. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Take it away, take it away. I didn't write it, a really good friend did the work. Take it, I'll be deleting the entry sometime tomorrow... well, until my computer get fixed.
I've FINISHED the essay with much help from AK, and nekomancy. THANK YOU ^____^
