SASUKE!

I don't care what all the naysayers say about you, for you have always been my little emo baby. You had the most phenomenal character growth, and I hope to all the manga gods (and Kishimoto) that you will end the series as the Kage of your own Village. You know, the Village of the Powerful and Clinically Insane. If you go back to Knonoha as one of its Shinobi or a prisoner I shall FOREVER deny the existence of Naruto. I rather you die a GLORIOUS death than return to Konoha. Actually, I would only accept Sasuke returning to Konoha if it happens under one scenario – talked about under the cut.

Wikipedia is awesome )

I can't get over how shounen manga is becoming awesome again.

True Blood - I don't get it

  • Aug. 25th, 2009 at 7:44 AM
naanima: ([Quote] I'm confused)
OK. I tried. I really, really tried. But the show is so badly written and acted I just can't do it. In addition, I don't think I have ever wanted a whole set of characters to just go and drop dead so very much (except for ERIC! I can WATCH ERIC every single day). The excess amount of sex gets boring fairly fast, the accents still make me want to stick a fork in my ear to make it stop, and Sookie and what's his name is about as interesting as watching paint dry.

How is this show popular? Also dudes, people have no foot to stand on if they like this show but make fun of everybody who likes Twilight. Personally I think the latter is actually more interesting than the former.

Friday night

It is a Friday night; I got fed at my parents place, had a nice long shower and am now sipping some Jim Beam and coke. Life is good.

Also, I can't stop listening to Amy Winehouse' Rehab. The woman is really talented. Her voice is like - it is like sex. I admit I judged her as a talentless hack without listening to any of her music, but wow. I kind of want to listen to a duet now between Adam Lambert and her; I think their voices would complement each other.

It always feel strange when I don’t know how to end a post. So, um. Goodbye, I’m off to read fics and drink some more.

The redband trailer of Legion.

OMFG! I don't want to raise my hopes but OMFG! It LOOKS all sorts of AWESOME! Dude! Adrianne Palicki as the Mother of Christ in his second coming. The CROSSOVERS! Also, Paul Bettany as the archangel Michael! EEE This can only be awesome. This has some serious shades of The Prophecy, which is all good in my book.

Is a series of fights.

Sommers seemed to have taken all the fight sequences from Star Wars, mixed it up and put it all back together without the intensity or any of the emotional resonance.

I could not understand what Channing Tatum was saying about 80% of the time. How is this guy hot? Hell, how is he an actor?

On the upside; Sienna Miller is pretty hot as the Baroness, and OMFG! Byung-hun Lee is SHIRTLESS in this film! I LOVE Byung-hun Lee and would like to aggressively lick him.

Oh, and the children in this film is all sort of awesome cakes.

In conclusion; I can't believe it cost $175 million to make this film. I wish Star Trek was still showing at the cinemas.

In conclusion, this show makes me HAPPY with GLEE!

House, and Gackt.

naanima: ([JPOP] Gackt in Samurai Action)
The boy and I have a place of our own now. It has 3 bedrooms (well, more like 1 bedroom, a study and storage), living/dining/kitchen area, laundry, 2 bathroom and a toilet. The whole thing is kind of awesome... except we are also in debt for the next 20 to 25 years of our lives. I suppose it could have been worse. This means new postal address and new landline, call/tx/lj me if you require my new address and/or landline.

On fandom news; I have been re-watching Leverage. I’m taking my time because I want to enjoy it to the best of my ability. The show just makes me gleeful; it is fun, it is happy and I love all the characters to bits.

I have also been watching an obscene amount of Gackt related videos. The man is the most entertaining person I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. His sheer presence has the ability to crack me up. I also find him much more attractive when he is being a giant dork as opposed to SUPER COOL GACKTO. His sense of humour is hilarious, and the awesome crack activities he get the TV presenters to do is just fantastic. I love seeing the presenters doing the ab-machine exercise or the crotch-flexibility machine thing. Oh, the LOOK of sheer pain on the male presenters will forever make me smile.

Also, everybody is in awe or stunned-stupidity when they first meet Gackt. Everybody. The way the celebrities react to him is hilarious; from complete fans to slight discomfort, no matter how they react when they first meet him, they are usually laughing and/or in awe of him at the end of the show. Usually a combination of both. The man is awesome... though still not sexually attractive.

Torchwood: COE more thoughts.

  • Jul. 13th, 2009 at 11:56 AM
naanima: ([Torchwood] Jack Harkness)
OK, have thought about this and I would like to explain my displeasure about Torchwood: COE. The thing is it isn't even what 90% of fandom is mad about. Go figure.

The good, the bad and the fail in dot points )

In conclusion, Torchwood: COE is a pretty well put together piece of sci-fi barring a few minor hiccups in regards to plot. However, I obviously was watching a different show from what RTD and other writers were trying to sell. So well I can objectively say it is a piece of good work, it isn’t my type of work, and it is completely different from why I was watching Torchwood in the first place.

Pray for me that I come out of this relatively sane, and not crazy.

Wimbledon - Tennis!

naanima: ([Tennis] I love this shit - Andy Roddick)
Andy Roddick!!!!! EEEE! EEE! EE!

Andy Roddick ends Andy Murray's Wimbledon dream!

OMFG! EXCITEMENT! Guys, I honestly thought Murray had won the game several time because for the first 2 to 3 sets it appeared as if Murray was coasting through despite the screw of the first set. But guys, Roddick played GOOD net game! I still can't get over that. Roddick playing net game.

Federer vs Roddick! Guys, Roddick have lost, like 18 out of the 20 matches against Federer, but by the gods wouldn't it be awesome if Roddick won. The guy have vastly improved.

EXCITEMENT!

MOVIES!

Saw Transformers: ROF. I LIKE! Much more fun than Terminator and the action sequences are much better done than Wolverine. So, my current ranking for summer blockbusters;

  • Star Trek – I love this film to bits. It made me love Kirk, and live long and prosper is the best f-off ever. SQUEE!

  • Transformers: ROF – Just fun, and OPTIMUS PRIME! OMFG! I LOVE YOU, PRIME! And BUMBLEBEE! And just so very awesome when the Autobots and the Decepticons tear into each other. I honestly didn’t mind the lack of exposition, why bother rehashing what the audience already know?

  • Wolverine – EEEE! GAMBIT! You are so pretty.

  • Terminator – INDIFFERENCE ahoy!

Waiting for the new Harry Potter film to be released, I WANTS!

Torchwood (AKA Touch Wood) and I.

  • Jun. 28th, 2009 at 2:30 PM
naanima: ([Torchwood] Team)
Torchwood and I don't exactly have the best of relationships. I love the show in concept but while watching it I mostly just want to murder baby seals. Having said that though, I do admit that at least 15% of the show is like finding gold, which makes the whole bloody experience that much more irritating because obviously it can be awesome but FAILS so often.

Despite my complicated feelings toward the show (RAGING!HATEOMFG!SO!AWESOME!) the promo pics for the new season/episode is hot like burning. The one below is my favourite. It pretty much says everything it needs to say about the members of Torchwood and their relationship with one and another.

Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files

naanima: ([Misc] Lick of LOVE)
Reading Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files series; I like. The series is very readable and Butcher creates these characters that are easily likable, and I admit I might have lost a lung laughing during the opening sequence of Blood Rites. The constant stream of snark is all sort of awesome, and there are just so many things I like about the series, which I will talk about in greater depth at a later date. For now I must go back to reading.

ETA: My love for John Marcone might be slightly over the top.
ETA 2: Thomas!!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
ETA 3: LARA!!!! YOU ARE SO AWESOME!
ETA 4: OMFG! WHAT?!

American Idol - No, I can't stop.

  • Jun. 13th, 2009 at 6:49 PM
naanima: ([Baby] Music)
I'm still going through my American Idol binge. My IPod have the following songs on repeat.

  • Feeling Good - Adam Lambert

  • Heartless - Kris Allen; the acoustic version, I swear the studio version makes me want to cry at how badly they screwed up Kris' rendition

  • Ain't No Sunshine - Kris Allen

  • Falling Slowly - Kris Allen

  • Alone - Allison Iraheta

  • The tracks of My Tears - Adam Lambert

  • Cryin' - Adam Lambert

  • She Works Hard for the Money - Kris Allen

  • Mad World - Adam Lambert

  • A Change Is Gonna Come - Adam Lambert

In conclusion, I LOVES Allison, Kris and Adam! If anyone would like a, um, sample, let me know.

ETA: Does anyone have Allison's audio version of Cry Baby? I'd prefer the live version but I'd be happy with the studio version.
